#73 - Why My Jewelry Feels Better Than Yours

So, with this pandemic of 2020 I have been talking with a lot of Business Owners and asking their thoughts on how this situation is and how it affects their business. With a lot of businesses working from home and finding out that it can be done with success, what would keep them from utilizing this and giving up leasing large office buildings? All the savings of less travel, heating, leasing, would it not be better continue to work from home in the future?

Each owner I asked had the same answer. There is no substitute for person to person contact, the interaction of bouncing ideas off each other and the personal contact when selling a product.

This made me think, in the Jewelry Business there are scores of people who search through their computer looking at jewelry and thinking that they are very savvy and can find jewelry and think in their mind that they have figured out how to buy and save a lot of money.

This might be so in a very few occasions, but what I have come to notice is this.
Most people aren’t sure of their buying ability and need some guidance in this area. The professional salespeople at these stores are highly trained and educated. They are forever following up with the styles and newest techniques of their trade. These folks are there for you to help you in your purchase and to support you and your purchase long into the future.

I am an appraiser/gemologist and I am hired by a lot of people trying to find out if they bought the right thing because they didn’t have faith in their buying ability. I hear, “Oh, I bought this online and I’m not sure if I should have bought it.” Then there are some who don’t want to know because they are afraid of what they might find out. These people are not sure if their jewelry looks good on them.

Personal Service

I notice a person right away with their jewelry and can tell if “their jewelry feels good.”

I say go to the professionals and get some advice and have someone in your corner. Remember what the big business owners say " there is no substitute for person to person contact".
