We make selling your diamond as easy as possible.

Why Sell to Us?

We've been in business for over 80 years and have helped thousands of happy customers turn their diamonds and diamond jewelry into cash, so you can trust us and our excellent team. We have in-house jewelers and gemologists who will personally examine your diamond. We buy from and sell to the public, so we can offer you high market value for you diamonds and diamond jewelry. We can buy your items outright for an agreed upon amount, and you will leave with cash or check in hand. LaLonde Jewelers & Gemologists does not consign jewelry, so all transactions will be outright buys.

Information to Keep in Mind

Remember that the same diamond quality characteristics (The 4 C's) that you paid attention to when buying your diamond, are also evaluated by us when we buy your diamond. These factors are Color, Clarity, Cut & Carat Weight. Refer to our Education section for details on these characteristics and how they affect diamond value. Certified diamonds (GIA and EGL) will command slightly higher premiums when compared to uncertified diamonds.

Certificate vs. Appraisal

People often confuse a diamond certificate and a diamond appraisal. Certificates, also called diamond grading reports, are made by reputable gemological labs, such as the GIA (Gemological Institute of America) or EGL (European Gemological Laboratory). Certificates include all of the important information about a diamond, including cut, color, clarity, and carat weight, as well as important measurements. Certificates are only issued for loose diamonds and never include a price.

Appraisals, on the other hand, can be done on mounted or loose diamonds and include a value, such as a Retail Replacement Value (the amount the item would generally retail for at full price) or Estate Value (the price at which the property would change hands between a willing buyer and a willing seller, neither being under any compulsion to buy or to sell and both having reasonable knowledge of relevant facts.) Appraisals of Retail Replacement Value are usually used for insurance purposes.

Appraised values are NOT a relevant indication of what you can expect your item to sell for.
